La Maison acknowledges that we are located on Treaty 1 territory and that the lands on which we gather are part of the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Ininewuk, Anisininewuk, Dakota Oyate and Denesuline peoples and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.

We acknowledge the historical oppression of the lands, cultures and first peoples of what is now Manitoba and, more broadly, Canada, by French-speaking colonizers. La Maison believes that the arts contribute to the healing and decolonization process that we pursue together in a spirit of reconciliation and cooperation.

We also acknowledge that our water comes from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation located on Treaty 3 territory, which until recently, did not have access to clean drinking water.

La Maison is a proud member of MARCC, L'AGAVF, CARFAC Manitoba and Manitobans for the Arts.
